Anyone who has ever desired to learn real estate investing has heard the name Ron Legrand . Ron has been marketing his books, courses and seminars via infomercials for decades. The only real estate guru to precede him on late-night TV was Carlton Sheets.
I have had personal interaction with Ron, and feel as I know the man. He is one of the few "gurus" who has actually been an investor for over 30 years, so he does have the knowledge necessary to teach others.
The issue I have with Ron Legrand and the Ron Legrand Gold Club is the cost. Like most "infomercial gurus", Ron Legrand charges far more than any course is worth. I can say that because I, too have been a successful real estate investor for over a half century. I can state with certainty that investing is not nuclear physics - ordinary people have been doing it for centuries. My dad was doing it in 1918 until he passed in 1987.
So, I know a course that teaches it is not worth paying thousands of dollars for. In fact, if a person pays more than a few hundred it's little more than a scam. My own course, "The Simple Man's Guide to Real Estate" includes everything a person needs for success - including unlimited mentoring, and the entire course is under $100 (it is offered as a not-for-profit enterprise - I already have my share of the $$$).
Still, I have to hand it to Ron Legrand - he truly is a master, not only of real estate investing, but marketing, as well. Perhaps some day he will decide, as I did, to stop adding so much to his personal wealth and just offer to help others succeed. Once a person gets as old as Ron and I, and have accumulated more than we need, it is time to give a little something back, to help those just starting out.
